Kitra Cahana b. 1987
Born on South Beach, Miami, Florida, raised in Sweden and Canadian national, Kitra is a young Montreal-based photojournalist. Her photographs have graced the pages of many international newspapers and magazines, including the cover of the New York Times and USA Today. She has won numerous awards, including 3rd place in POYi Magazine News Picture Story for her work on the Israeli Disengagement from the Gaza Strip. She recently returned from a independent project in Ethiopia and Israel where she photographed the Falash Mura, a group of 10,000 impoverished Ethiopians, who are immigrating to Israel under the auspices of the Israeli government. Kitra is presently doing a BA in Philosophy at Mcgill University in Montreal.
